In the Beginning . . .
The Gallery initially came into existence from an idea forged by the members when they were inspired by the display of ceramics and sculpture at an exhibition in the gallery space which was then known as the Audrey Hoving studio in November 2010.
For years the members had held an annual exhibition to showcase their work, However this exhibition, curated by Michele Cochran and Mal Gotjes, fondly known as “the M&Ms”, had a significant impact. It stirred the creative fires and the idea for a permanent gallery was set alight. Subsequently, the President at the time, Ellen Flounders, officially opened the Gallery on 12 June 2011. Since then it has hosted a range of exhibitions of both individual artists and members.
